The match forms part of a structured pre-season programme designed to give the technical staff a clear read on the squad under match conditions. Sessions through the week have carried the same focus that has shaped the club's build-up since trials.

The fixture follows the club's meeting with Jovial Gobason at the Kendeja Field on July 26, which ended in a 3:3 draw.

The technical staff go into Saturday without a number of players. Left back Alvin Williams, who featured in the last friendly, is out with an ankle injury. Elijah Kollie and Seth Giken are also unavailable, while Prince Smith misses out through illness. The absences open the door for other members of the squad to take on minutes in a competitive setting.

Speaking ahead of the match, Coach Abbas Gontor set out how the club is measuring the afternoon.

"I believe for this test match the score matters, but our growth matters more. In pre-season, we either win or we learn. Either way, we leave better. We're building for the league. We can look back at matches like this and say: 'We've been here before'. This is how we fix it."
